Description


The Watts Series LF174A is an ASME water pressure relief valve designed specifically for pressure protection of hot water heating boiler equipment. The valve helps protect boiler systems against excessive pressure by opening at its predetermined set pressure and relieving excess water pressure.
Constructed with a Lead Free cast copper silicon alloy body, the LF174A is available with pressure settings from 50 to 150 psi (3–10 bar) and sizes from ¾" to 2". Its high relieving capacity makes it suitable for hot water heating boiler applications with ratings from 950,000 to 14,370,000 BTU/hr.
The seat is positioned above the drain to help prevent trapped water and sediment from fouling the seating area. Non-mechanical seat-to-disc alignment helps reduce sticking or freezing, while a high-temperature-resistant water seal isolates the spring and working components from water during relief operation.
