Watts Series 174A, 374A & 740 ASME Water Pressure Relief Valves

The Watts Series 174A, 374 and 740 are ASME water pressure relief valves designed to provide pressure protection for hot water heating boilers and related heating systems. The valves open when system pressure reaches the specified set pressure, relieving excess pressure to help protect boiler equipment and piping.
The Series 174A features bronze body construction and is available with pressure settings from 30 to 150 psi (2.1–10 bar). The Series 374A features an iron body with forged brass inlet and is rated at 550,000 BTU/hr. The Series 740 features an iron body with expanded outlets and is designed for hot water space heating boilers, with pressure settings from 30 to 75 psi (2–5 bar).
The seat is positioned above the drain to help prevent trapped water and sediment from fouling the seating area. Non-mechanical seat-to-disc alignment helps reduce sticking or freezing, while a high-temperature-resistant water seal isolates the spring and working components from water during relief operation.
