Watts® Series SS009 Stainless Steel Reduced Pressure Zone Backflow Preventers are designed to protect potable water supplies against contamination caused by backpressure and backsiphonage in high-hazard cross-connections.
Constructed from investment-cast 316 stainless steel, the SS009 provides excellent corrosion resistance for demanding water and industrial applications. It is particularly suitable where downstream fluids may attack conventional bronze materials or where stainless steel construction is preferred.
The Series SS009 features two in-line independent check valves, captured springs, replaceable check seats and a hydraulically operated differential pressure relief valve. Its modular construction provides convenient top-entry access for inspection and servicing, while true line-sized check modules help reduce fouling caused by dirt and debris.
The SS009 is suitable for applications including industrial plants, chemical processing, reverse osmosis systems and other corrosive environments requiring reliable reduced pressure zone backflow protection.
